User Reviews about Dyson DC25 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner
I love this vaccum! Prior to this vaccum I had a Kirby for 12 years. It was time for a new vaccum. I love the way I can maneuver this vaccum. I mostly have hard floors and I wanted a vaccum easy to use. I use it almost every day. I hardly ever use the broom any more. The canister is extremely easy to remove to empty! Very smart! It transitions very easily from hard floor to carpet by pushing a button, even while it's moving!
-- Love this vaccum
I've owned the DC07 for about 4 years now. It's still going strong despite the abuse my family and I put it through.
We are a family of four with three cats. We all have long hair (including our cats) I have to say that every other vacuum I have owned has broken down within a year except this one. Brand name, no name, high end, you name it over the past 20 years I have almost always had to buy a new one or repair every year.
The only problem I have with it is the fact that the long handle stays in the unit and it is just the floppy hose that comes out. I can't find an extender for it either so doing the kitchen floor is a pain as I have to basically get down on my knees to do it.
I'd love to buy a new one but this one still operates the way it did when I first got it. Maybe when my son moves out I will give it to him and buy a new one for myself. -- Never had a vacuum that has lasted this long Dyson DC07
This is my second shot at the review as amazon rejected my earlier review. Before I go any further I dont understand why amazon entertains people to review a different product like DC07 or DC14 when people are here to know and buy a DC 25.
As for the review itself, I am not very sure if this vaccum deserves so many rave reviews. It felt like a regular vaccum to me. After reading hundreds of positive comments about the extra-ordinary suction power this machine has I was disappointed to know that it has just average suction. This vaccum cannot pick up objects like cheerios, peanuts from bare floor if the brush head is turned off ( which should be turned off on bare floor). Not that I use a $500 vaccum to pick up peanuts, I just wanted to test out its suction power. You can go to youtubedotcom and search for " dyson dc 25 vs swiffer " to compare this machine's suction power on bare floor.
On carpet it did a good job but my carpet did not look fluffy enough, as it does have any height adjustment feature.
Now to compare this vaccum with the generic vaccums, I bought a Bissell Powerforce and a Bissell powerforce turbo vaccums from walmart. Both of them did a terrific job on my carpets ( better than dyson) but were not that good on barefloor. Bissel vaccum cleaners were able to suck out dirt after I vaccumed with dyson and also the carpet felt and looked very fluffy unlike when I used just the dyson.
I think dyson may be durable long term but when I got a vaccum cleaner for less than 50 bucks which does a job equally well or even better I dont see any reason why I should own a dyson and spend a fortune. Some one was mentioning that they saw a link at dysons website to buy various parts and accessories. I found the same for the two bissell products I mentioned here. I am not a Bissell employee or get any credit or money to write this review. I just want people to know what they are getting into before splurging insane amounts of $$$$$$$

Excellent Vacuum. Lives up to all the hype and expectations ! Sucked up stuff from carpets that we didn't even know existed or could even be sucked out :-) Had a couple of Hoover bagless windtunnels prior to this. Very easy to maneuver and feels very lightweight (although = 16 lbs) - partly because of the ball making it turn on a dime and go places where no other vacuum has gone before. Easy to assemble out of the box (I didn't even read the manual in haste - am the kind that likes to constantly challenge my intuition). Great to look at ! (its part of the NY MoMA collection after all). Really like the ease with which the roller brush comes off for cleaning.
Purchased it from Amaazon @ 20% off MSRP.
Extremely proud and happy with the purchase. Wife is extremely impressed (for a change ;-) and considers me still capable of taking sane decisions. It was a surprise for her - and she just loves it. -- Great Vacuum
